Barbara Sibbald
Award winning journalist, editor, author and fiction writer, Barbara Sibbald has more than 25 years experience publishing in regional and national magazines, daily and weekly newspapers, including the Ottawa Citizen, the Toronto Star, Chatelaine, the Globe and Mail and he Canadian Nurse. Her work received citations in both the 2004 and 2005 Michener Awards for meritorious public service in journalism and a gold for breaking news in Kenneth R. Wilson Business Press awards. Previously, she has received a National Magazine Award, two nominations for Journey Prize in fiction writing and six Canadian Community Newspaper Awards. Twelve of her short stories have been published in literary magazines and anthologies.
A graduate of Carleton University’s School of Journalism, Barbara is a former photo editor and editor-in-chief of The Charlatan. Currently, she is the editor of news for the CMAJ (Canadian Medical Association Journal), the fifth-ranked general interest medical journal in the world.
