Jim Reil

Jim Reil grew up near army and navy bases in Victoria but has lived near Ottawa for fifteen years. He makes his living as a freelance writer and these days focuses his obsessive - compulsive tendencies largely on writing fiction and on amassing a collection of jazz and improvised music CDs. He co-hosts a weekly improvised music radio show (called Now’s the Time) on CKCU FM (ckcufm.com). He began publishing short stories in Canada’s literary magazines in 1993 and has written three novels. In 1993, his work was chosen for the The Journey Prize Anthology.
